About Us| Why Perseides as a name? | Perseides Defined I have been asked this question a lot since I formed Perseides Partners in October of 2005. So in light of that I have decided to answer the question on our website. Thank you for visiting! As an Irishman you need to understand that when you ask a question you don’t get, but rarely, a simple "yes" or "no" answer usually a story of some type will ensue. And not wanting to fail the Irish people and those that have gotten to know me I will not henceforth disappoint in my explanation of why I selected Perseides Partners as the name for our company. I was born in Iowa and my first remembrance of the Perseides (what we have always called it but it is also proper to say Perseids (per-se´i-dez) according to the American Heritage Dictionary) Meteor Shower was as a very young boy. I lived in the city with my parents and two brothers and a sister, I being the oldest. Every summer we would go for a visit to my Grandparents farm, which was in Benton County, as a crow flies about half way between Cedar Rapids and Waterloo. As I got older my Granddad, Lawrence Floyd and my Grandmother, Ida would take us kids off my parent’s hands for a week or two and put us to work or play as our age and the time would offer. ...more | page 3 | page 4 page 5 | page 6
